okbobok, tags describe what is in a post, and this is especially important for picture posts. They are kind of like subject headings but are applied more promiscuously and, yes, subjectively. I think it is important that one be accurate with tagging, otherwise their usefulness diminishes. However, I am a fairly promiscuous tagger because these are parts of a web page which web search tools particularly focus upon, and I am interested in driving traffic to my site. Web sites also focus on the text itself, but I think more so on titles and tags. And as I mentioned before, the tagging of images is so important because this allows images on a particular topic to be readily found, even if the file name of the picture is not descriptive.
much liking. much much.
PS: you have a lot of tags! can you explain to me what these are for? i’m ignorant. they seem subjective and irrelevant.
