Photo – Geese on Pagoda Lake

I believe that by all conventional reckoning yesterday was peak Autumn in St. Louis. The late arriving color saturated almost every tree and most carried a full canopy. The temperature was clement and driving through Forest Park I saw people everywhere enjoying all the attractions, taking photos, and reveling in the glory of the day.

Then last night in my bed I could hear the weather turn. A roaring wind and then the sound of my neighbor’s fascia flailing in it. It all made for a much, much chillier day with a stiff cold wind that blew all day. And, yes, some trees had significantly been robbed of their leaves, though there was still much color. In truth, today was my very favorite sort of Autumn day, though it did make for a rather unpleasant afternoon for the lass for whom I was taking senior pictures. Despite the suffering, I tell you, the pictures are going to be amazing!

I try to give my clients all my attention, but these Canada geese on the lake surrounding the pagoda I could not disregard.
