On a recent flight to California, I was fortunate to have an almost pristine window from which to view the glories of cloud formations and the wonder of the American West. Thanks, Southwest Airlines. I only had a 50mm lens on my camera, but was still able to get some cool shots. Upon posting this earlier in an Instagram mini-shot, one friend suggested that it looked like an image from Tolkien’s Middle Earth. Perhaps it is the view Gwaihir, Lord of the Eagles, on an especially high flight. Another friend suggested that it might look better in black and white. And, so, here are two images side by side and you can decide!
