The Last of the Tomatoes – On the Window Sill

  1. Beautiful. The top one is simply beyond-words lovely!

The green/red palette is spot-on and reminds me of a visit to the van Gogh museum in Amsterdam when they’d put together a whole section of an installation featuring many of his works in just that combination, and I’d not realized he’d done such a quantity focused on red and green. Some really compelling pieces, too. I fell in love with his stuff all the more on that viewing. These shots here are so evocative of the specific tones he used but also of the warm earthiness of his subject treatment. For being such smooth and shimmering photos, that’s a surprising evocation! And one I’m enjoying immensely. Thanks!

    • Thank you, Kathryn. These images have a bit of a Lomo effect, which emphasizes the greens. I am a Van Gogh fan, too. I will have to look for reds and greens in his work.
