Ever since this photo was submitted for one of my photo contests, I have wanted to go to Presque Isle. In addition to the picture itself, the name was attractive to me as well, perhaps even simply the word “isle.” And, so, seeing it on my route and having a missed a day of hiking already due to car trouble, I decided to add this to my itinerary as a sort of bonus.
In truth, Presque Isle is now really a peninsula as at some point it was joined to the mainland and one can drive around it. The day I went there were numerous cyclists, rollerbladers, and people on the beach.
