Nesting

A friend of mine at church came and told me that there were some birds in a nest at the base of a tree and that it might make quite a good picture. Upon going to have a look, the children said that before church they had seen some fledglings on the ground presumably having fallen from a nest and that after church a nest had been built up around them. I am not sure what to make of it. Perhaps the mother bird transported an already built nest down or built one quickly. And I was not sure if the bird on the right was the mother, but I do not think so. I felt a little bad that we were all standing over the birds gawking and taking pictures, but it was a rather too rare opportunity to pass up. These shots have a lomo effect on them.

  1. i can reveal the mystery. during the 2nd sermon, Nicole Henning showed me the birds. They had fallen from the tree. One was stranded on top of someone’s CRV in the parking lot. Helen Scott carefully scooped up the fragile babies into the fragments of nest and left them at the base of the tree. Right after that we spotted the mother bird up in the bows with a work looking for her babies. Nicole said, “if Sherry Chappeau were here, she would know what to do.”
