By way of explanation, on the edge of the Adler Planetarium in Chicago there is kind of a semi circular sea/lake wall which has wide flat steps leading down to it and on which one can walk. Only you can’t in the winter because the waves cause piles of ice to form on it. Some of it was rather fantastically shaped and smooth. This was one of those pieces. And the amazing thing, which I did not realize until last night, is that the blue at the base of the crystal, I am pretty, sure is a reflection of the blue sky, which means that the crystal was acting rather like a prism.
