Southwest Airlines became a success for many reasons. One of them was because at some point they decided they would fly only one type of plane so their mechanics would not have to be trained on multiple different types of aircraft. Nonetheless, some of the planes are older models of the the brilliant Boeing 737 workhorse (we are still waiting on the amazing 787 Dreamliner). I could tell that because there were no fins on the wingtips, and one’s itinerary also lists a plane’s model number. And the glass of this old model was rather bleary. That and the fact that I was experimenting with a polarizing filter, which in theory should help make things pop, gave many of the photos on the flight from KC to Albuquerque a rainbow and dim effect. So, these are in black and white. The irrigation crop circles are varying shades of green agains brown desert. And then after flat, flat land, one will see amazing folds and textures with earth of several different hues. I will try to get some color pictures too, but these highly worked over black and whites are pretty effective in showing the shapes and shades and textures.
