Heidi, I actually think the paint is actually the pink part of the picture and the bluish color is the plain planking. I took this at about 5:00pm in the evening so I think that bluishness is an effect of the lighting.
It does indeed look like something on a dock. It is actually 5711 Maple between Goodfellow and Clara 🙂 I was bold enough to stop and take a picture, which sometimes is tricky in neighborhoods where folk might think you are reveling in their demise. I get that, even as I desire to capture it for artistic reasons.
I really like this picture for the little roots that are stuck to the boards with little feet.
I like how the blue painted wood has worn to gray and how the vine looks worn as well. Reminds me of something you may find on a dock in Maine.

Love the delicate muted colors. It is one of those photos that is very painting like.
